LOLA 2016 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

LOLA Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is pale gold in color with flavors of tropical fruits and citrus, complimented by delicate floral aromas and a bright crisp mouth-feel. A portion of this wine is aged in older oak (going through partial malolactic fermentation), to provide a caramelized richness to accent the aromatics and palate.

This Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast stays in 70% stainless steel and sees no malolactic, while the rest is aged in neutral French oak to go through partial maloactic fermentation. It’s a nice Chardonnay, and there are over 3,000 cases of it. Clean, crisp lemon and apple blossom, white peach and a touch of pear are all present in this modern style, fresh, steely and minerallaced, mid-weight Chardonnay with surprising concentration and fruit.
- Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
A Sonoma Coast bargain fermented with native yeast with partial malolactic, aged mainly in stainless steel and partially in older French oak, this Chardonnay charges out of the gate with gorgeous lemongrass, orange peel and honeycomb notes over a core of lemon tart and grapefruit. Medium-bodied, fine-boned and lively in the mouth, it has a lovely savory character and bags of poise coming through on the finish.
- Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
All from the Sonoma coast and brought up in 2-4-year old barrels, this Chardonnay sports light gold color as well as terrific notes of brioche, caramelized pineapple, Meyer lemon, and spice. Medium-bodied, fresh and lively, it has beautifully integrated oak, good freshness and acidity, and plenty of length. At 22 bucks it’s another sensational value from Seth to drink over the coming couple of years.
- Jeb Dunnuck
This Chardonnay is a pretty, bright wine to drink now and over the next few years. Varietal Chardonnay notes are given an extra kick of brightness from partial aging in steel. Drink this fresh, inviting Chardonnay over the next 2-3 years.
